We're going to the Steve Irwin Zoo today which I've heard won't depress me. They give their wombats a walk or something. Tomorrow, I think it's beach day. Then Monday (our last day) we're getting our stuff together. Ree and I are going to go party with Erik (our old neighbor who we are visiting).
My contacts have officially died so I'm in glasses until Tuesday. My eyes are very mad at me for using the same contacts for three weeks. In other news, I'm very bored of my parents discussing the same three topics over and over with all their friends. It's like: politics, the environment, and the economy. Over and over and over. And okay I discuss that stuff sometimes, but I don't say the exact same thing to different people. Holy crap so annoying. Plus my dad is pretty ignorant and simple-minded as far as politics goes.

So, Pats lost. But I'm pretty ambivalent about football so whatever. I'm actually kind of glad that I as a Florida sports fan have something to hold onto ('72 Dolphins). Speaking of Florida sports, I found some really nerdy pictures of Lowell and Becket when they used to play for the Marlins and other dorky rookie shots.
In other news, I'm visiting Yankeeland next weekend. And yes I am going to be that asshole that wears the Boston cap but only as a show of solidarity with the girl I'm going with who will be wearing a Patriots jersey. Also, already behind in the reading for my most important class. Yes, this is why I won't go to Harvard, Megan. Also I'm just generally mediocre apparently.
I'm working on getting Sox tickets and I have list of the sections in Fenway which I will approve of sitting in but my friend Maria and I might just get some really shitty sits for a New York Boston game and just revel in the best sports rivalry ever to exist.

I could have slept more this morning I think but I got up and got my stuff together and now I'm sitting at Fort Lauderdale Airport wondering just how long my plane will be in the air before it crashes into the earth. I got a GoSox from the guy who checked my boarding pass. Made me smile.
I'm happy to return to Boston really. I might miss Florida a little bit more than I thought I would but seasons and snow are nice. I mean seriously, I just went on vacation for a month to a tropical paradise. It's regrettable I didn't go to the Keys. Hopefully I can get a little trip down there together for Spring Break.
In other news, I love Beirut. What the hell was I doing not listening to them all these years. it's a mystery.
I John McCain phone-banker called me yesterday. I picked up and had an interesting talk. Too bad I still don't want to vote for McCain. I really appreciate people who phone-bank. I'm pretty terrified of doing it really but I might as part of some of the Hillary activities on campus. Enid starting making sex noises after about ten minutes and so I had to hang up. Typical boy stuff.

I thought it might be time for an update. In case anyone cares, I'm still in Florida. I didn't go back up for wintersession. By the time I had three days left I had not seen the friends I had wanted to see at all. I especially missed Elizabeth.
I also felt I hadn't spent enough time with my family. But the thing about my family is that you spend time with them.... over time. Because if you try to get all your family time down in one day, everyone will be doing their own thing and you might end up watching half a football game and a movie with dad and mom respectively.
Also, I wasn't feeling academic achievement right then so I wasn't sure how smart going up there would have been.
Now I have so much time! It's nice. I've got to stop sleeping until 2pm though. I mean, it's not like I'm going to bed at 4am or anything. I woke up today at 11am but then I was like, why not go back to bed? I mean I'm getting so much rest, 12hours+ a night.
Today, I woke up and read a little in Lolita. Then, I decided that I might... just... care a little bit... about whether the Patriots have a perfect season and win the Superbowl. That doesn't mean I'm a fan. I've never been a fan of any football team except for the Miami Hurricanes. And I have no idea why. Maybe I'm starting to care just because all the soxblogs I read are talking about the Pats? When the Giants had them on the run, I was kind of wishing they would lose. Weird.
I got my grades a couple days ago. I am so happy with them. It's crazy. I thought I had seriously messed up in American History, despite the fact that it was my favorite class. But! I didn't and got a B!
Last semester was extremely hard but I think I made it out alright. I didn't get a C in anything, which made my year. I'm going to try to do a lot better next semester. By that, I mean keeping things together, not letting papers go until the last night, etc. I mean, Maria really helps me study. It's weird. Mostly because we can have fun while studying by having random gangsta rap dance breaks.
I got a B- in Russian which was slightly disappointing but the class average was an 84 so it's just a hard class. PLUS, I had only an hour on the two and a half hours exam because my lovely father told me the wrong time for my flight out of Boston. Awesome. It turned out alright so whatever.
I have a few goals before I go back to Wellesley:
1. Finish Lolita
2. Finish Everything is Illuminated
3. Watch Everything is Illuminated with my sister and my mom
4. Get at least halfway through the Russian grammar book I bought
I should include lose some weight but... that doesn't exactly fit with my lazy lifestyle.

The world is a pretty scary place when you have -3.5 vision and no contacts. Especially when you're watching amorphous forms of light sway back and forth in the wind from the window of the Lulu. Especially when it's 2:25am and you kind of wish you were drunk and/or not having to write an paper about Abraham Lincoln.
Soon it will be over though. I mean, I'm working. Here's my plan.
tomorrow: finish first US paper, study for Russian and Psychology
Tuesday: Take Russian and Psychology
Wednesday: Take linguistics. GTFO of Wellesley. Write second paper on the plane/in the airport/at my house.
Thursday: Submit that motherfucker by 3pm.

Today was my first day going into work all by myself. It wasn't as fun without Rebecca there, but I did managed to get six items on the internet all by myself. Also, I got my first paycheck!
I said hi to Maria after I came back then went to relax for a while in my room. Then I cleaned my room. Everything is in order but I can't find my sox cap that coco crisp signed, but I'm not to worried because I saw it this morning. It's probably pushed up against the wall by my bed. I don't have time to tear apart my room at the moment because I have to go scan my linguistics homework and send it to my teacher. To do this I have to venture through the snow to the Science Center (aka most confusing building ever).
Things to get accomplished tonight:
1) Russian Homework
2) American History Reading
3) Zooey Reading
4) Sleep before 2am

Arg, it got a lot colder since I left my dorm this morning. It's about 20 degrees right now and I really wish I had put on some leggings.
I didn't get an American History paper done. Oh well, I'm doing in this afternoon then turning it in before midnight. Maybe my teacher will... not take off points because technically I turned it in today? Hmmm? Not that it matters. I've kind of given myself permission to mess up in that class. Worse case senerio I get a C. Oh well.

Only one class with papers!!! woo!!! (and it might be credit non!) and the Computer Science is a lab science so I'm going to fulfill that requirement. Only thing that is annoying is that I have class so damn often. Also, I'm really excited for German over winter session. Actually mostly, I'm just excited about not being stuck in FL for too long.
Funny story, I was telling Maria this story while doing some midnight snacking at the hoop and the girl serving us thought it was absolutely hilarious: "I almost walked out of the bookstore without paying for my German books. I thought they had rung them up, and they thought I had already bought them. I noticed before I left but I wish I had just walked out because they ended up being $200." Oh College life. Also, I have noticed that lately I have been making a lot of apostrophes during everyday speech. Weird.
Also I'm making a certain call tonight. Wish me luck.
